Michelle Witkin PhD Michelle Witkin, Ph. D., is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Valencia, CA with more than 30 years experience. She specializes in treating children, teens, and adults with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and anxiety disorders. She has been a featured speaker on podcasts and radio shows including: The OCD Stories, Moms Without Worry, and Tell Me What You’re Proud Of. She is a regular presenter at national conferences (including the International OCD Foundation and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America), and she writes on topics related to anxiety and OCD. Dr. Witkin is a graduate of the International OCD Foundation’s General and Pediatric Behavior Therapy Training Institutes (BTTI) and is is a Clinical Fellow of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. Dr. Witkin is also trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).

Explain 2 ways in which a clinician mistaking obsessionfor harm/danger can be problematic for the individual with OCD.
